BOOSTER Design Contest Deadline Extended, More Time to Bring Your Ideas to Life

The BOOSTER Design Contest, organised within the EU-funded BOOSTER project, has extended its application deadline to 19 June 2026 to give participants additional time to develop and submit their ideas.

Contest in a nutshell

The contest invites creative minds to explore innovative design solutions using Organic Photovoltaic (OPV) technology. Participants are challenged to integrate lightweight, flexible, and customizable OPV films into building and architectural concepts that combine aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability.

Participants are challenged to design a concept using a 5 m² OPV film provided by ASCA, focusing on creative integration rather than technical complexity. The emphasis is on originality, user experience, and design value and to highlight how OPV can be naturally embedded into everyday environments and design solutions. Participation is free of charge, and multiple entries are allowed.

Inspiration in Action

To support participants, the BOOSTER consortium has prepared a series of short videos showcasing how OPV technology can be integrated across different applications:

· Solar in Architecture – mobile and flexible structures with integrated solar solutions

· Urban Furniture – smart solar benches using transparent OPV modules

· Inspired by Nature – structures combining shading and energy generation in public spaces

· Everyday Spaces – lightweight solar elements such as umbrellas providing both comfort and power

What You Can Win

The winning concept will be brought to life as a small-scale demonstrator, with support from the BOOSTER consortium, and showcased at the BOOSTER Final Event. Additional prizes include promotion of selected designs and invitations to the final event. All participants will receive a certificate of participation.
