SHINE PV Project Advances Next-Generation Photovoltaics At M12 Meeting
February 19SHINE PV lit up EnergyVille on February 9–10 as consortium partners gathered in Genk, Belgium, for the project’s M12 meeting, two days packed with science, strategy, and shared ambition. Hosted by IMEC, the hybrid event brought together researchers, industry players, and advisory board members to reflect on a strong first project year and map the road ahead.

Work package updates, poster sessions, and lively discussions showcased how the project is progressing right on track. The setting itself added an extra spark: EnergyVille, now a thriving hub of clean energy innovation. Walking through EV1 and EV2, visiting Soltech, exploring labs equipped with advanced IPTE technology, and touring C-mine (formerly the Winterslag coal mine), participants experienced a powerful contrast, industrial heritage transformed into a launchpad for next-generation energy solutions.
The venue perfectly echoed SHINE PV’s mission: developing sustainable, high-throughput, industry-ready, next-generation photovoltaic technologies. Collaboration was everywhere, researchers and companies working shoulder to shoulder to strengthen Europe’s leadership in solar innovation. Find out more about Shine PV project.
