HyperImage project at Photonics West 2026 – San Francisco

February 20

The HyperImage project was proudly present at SPIE Photonics West, organized by SPIE in San Francisco.

As one of the world’s leading events in optics and photonics, Photonics West provided the perfect stage to showcase HyperImage’s latest advancements in hyperspectral imaging, cloud-based data processing, and next-generation spectral camera technologies.

🎤 Scientific Contributions from the HyperImage project Consortium

Our partners actively contributed to the technical programme:

🔹 Fraunhofer IWS Stephan B. and Jonas Golde presented: “A unified hyperspectral imaging data format for cloud-based analysis and visualization” Highlighting the importance of standardized data structures to enable scalable and interoperable spectral analytics.

🔹 Wageningen University & Research Gerrit Polder served as Co-Chair of Photonic Technologies in Plant and Agricultural Science III, reinforcing the strong connection between spectral imaging and agri-food innovation. Joseph Peller presented: “Creation of a super-resolution spectral imaging camera using pixel shifting”, advancing spatial and spectral performance beyond current limitations.

🔹 Optotune Showcased their latest advancements in liquid lens technologies at both Vision Tech Expo and the Photonics West Exhibition, demonstrating how adaptive optics enhance spectral imaging systems.

🤝 AMIRES at Booth 5536

AMIRES was present with its own booth, where visitors and partners could meet the team, explore the HyperImage portfolio, and discuss broader EU-funded innovation initiatives in photonics, AI, quantum, and deep tech.

The booth became a meeting point for:

· Consortium partners

· Industrial stakeholders

· Potential collaborators

· Researchers exploring Horizon Europe opportunities

🚀 Strengthening Visibility and Impact

Participation at Photonics West 2026 was more than visibility, it was a strategic opportunity to:

✅ Position HyperImage within the global spectral imaging ecosystem

✅ Engage directly with industry leaders and researchers

✅ Strengthen exploitation pathways and future collaborations

✅ Showcase European excellence in photonics innovation

The energy, discussions, and new connections made in San Francisco confirm that hyperspectral and spectral imaging technologies are rapidly moving toward broader industrial and commercial adoption.

Thank you to all partners for their strong scientific presence, and to everyone who visited us at the AMIRES booth.
