How AMIRES made an impact at EU PVSEC 2025

September 26

The 42nd European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition (EU PVSEC 2025) wrapped up in Bilbao from 22–26 September, bringing together over 1,600 participants from 61 countries and showcasing the latest advances across the photovoltaic value chain.

AMIRES proudly participated and contributed across multiple fronts:

Trends Driving the Photovoltaic Revolution

EU PVSEC 2025 highlighted key trends shaping the future of solar energy. Experts emphasized scaling perovskite and tandem technologies, improving module reliability and standardization, and integrating solar power with grid storage solutions. Sustainability and circular economy practices were central, with ongoing efforts to reduce material use and enhance recycling. The conference also showcased the growing relevance of diverse PV applications – from agrivoltaics and building-integrated PV to floating solar.

Joint Effort for Higher Visibility

For the second consecutive year, AMIRES designed the Perovskite Network joint booth, bringing together a growing network of projects and offering visitors a comprehensive overview of initiatives driving the transition to carbon neutrality. We showcased our projects LUMINOSITY, SUPERTANDEM, SHINE PV, and BOOSTER, highlighting technological innovation and collaborative across our portfolio.

Shared Discussion for Knowledge Exchange

AMIRES participated in the Perovskite Innovation Roundtable, a parallel event where experts explored bridging lab-scale breakthroughs with real-world applications. Key topics included reliability testing, outdoor validation, and scaling challenges, as well as the diversity of materials and module architectures under development. The session also served as the final dissemination event for the SUPERTANDEM project, sharing key results from three years of collaborative research.

Collaborations and Global Opportunities

Throughout the conference, AMIRES representatives strengthened international partnerships and explored new opportunities. In particular, we shared insights with participants from Canada regarding the mission of Rudolf Fryček, CEO of AMIRES, aimed at strengthening ties between Europe and Canada within Horizon Europe-associated initiatives.

Greentech in Focus

We seized the chance to spotlight our upcoming event on Re-Thinking Electronics: Greentech – Too good to be true?. From sparking conversations with visitors and partners eager to explore innovations and collaborative opportunities within Horizon projects.

EU PVSEC 2025 offered AMIRES a platform to showcase ongoing projects, disseminate results, and expand our network of collaborators. We look forward to the next edition in Rotterdam, 2026.
