WISER
WISER (Waste-derived Innovative Solutions for the Secured and Sustainable Supply of Semiconductor Raw Materials to Europe) is a Horizon Europe project developing innovative technologies to recover critical semiconductor materials from industrial waste streams. The project focuses on antimony, silicon, and silver recovered from asbestos mining waste, end-of-life photovoltaic panels, and geothermal residues.
By demonstrating advanced recovery, purification, and qualification technologies, WISER aims to strengthen Europe’s raw material supply chains, reduce dependence on imports, and support a more sustainable and circular semiconductor industry. Bringing together partners across the entire value chain, the project contributes to Europe’s competitiveness, resilience, and green transition.
Role of AMIRES
AMIRES leads the project’s communication, dissemination and exploitation activities, ensuring that WISER’s results reach key stakeholders across industry, research, and policy communities. AMIRES also supports project coordination and contributes to the effective implementation and monitoring of project activities throughout the project’s lifetime.
