AMIRES Launches Its Quantum Programme: Shaping Europe’s Quantum Future
December 12We’re excited to officially launch the AMIRES Quantum Programme, led by Marco Messina together with Roman Pašek, Jana Mwangi, and Amelia Domínguez Celorrio. This passionate team will focus on strengthening and connecting Europe’s growing quantum ecosystem.

Quantum technologies are rapidly moving from research labs into real-world applications. From computing and secure communication to sensing, materials, and infrastructure, these advances are opening up powerful new possibilities for industry, research, and society.
Why quantum, and why now?
Quantum technologies are among the most disruptive and high-potential fields in Europe today. With this new programme, AMIRES is stepping confidently into this space, building on its strengths in innovation management, project coordination, and strategic networking. Our goal is simple: help turn outstanding quantum research into practical solutions with real impact, staying true to our mission of connecting science and business.
What the AMIRES Quantum Programme will do
Through this programme, we will:
- Build strong partnerships across research, industry, and investment communities to encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing
- Support leading R&D projects, including QU-TEST, QU-PILOT, SPINUS, Quench, and PROMISE Quantum, helping push quantum technologies forward
- Guide innovators through funding and EU initiatives, making it easier to navigate Europe’s complex programme landscape
- Bring the community together through events, discussions, and shared insights throughout the year
This programme is more than a new initiative, it’s a long-term commitment to strengthening Europe’s position in quantum technologies and nurturing a vibrant, collaborative innovation environment.
