AMIRES at Formnext: Connecting Innovation, Industry & Impact
November 24AMIRES at Formnext was proudly represented by our colleague Marina de Souza Faria, who participated at the world’s leading exhibition and conference on Additive Manufacturing (AM).
Marina attended the event to engage with the growing AM ecosystem, support ongoing project activities, and introduce AMIRES services to new partners across industry and academia.
As part of her visit, Marina met with several partners from Made-3D project, which is coordinated by University of Paderborn. The project focuses on developing multi-material additive manufacturing technologies for high-performance, lightweight applications in sectors such as aeronautics, automotive, and energy.
At the conference, Marina conducted interviews with key project partners, including:
- Nikon-SLM (Josephin Enz and Dominik Ahlers) – on the role of machine innovation in enabling multi-material capabilities
- Fraunhofer IGCV (Georg Schlick) – on overcoming technical challenges in printing dissimilar materials
- AVL (Stefan Karanovic) – on their use case involving electric motor components and integrated shunt sensors
- Thermo-Calc Software (Ida Berglund)– on computational materials design and digital support tools
These video interviews will serve as dissemination materials. The goal is to highlight the project’s progress and its relevance to real-world industrial use cases.
In addition, she shared how AMIRES supports European R&D projects, offering expertise in project design, coordination, exploitation planning, and dissemination.
Our focus is emerging applications in advanced manufacturing, materials, health, and deep tech.
She also met with dissemination partners such as Merryl from Metal AM magazine, one of the most prominent publications in the additive manufacturing field.
“Formnext is more than a trade show—it’s a hub for breakthrough ideas and collaboration,” Marina shared.
“It was a great opportunity to strengthen our connections in the AM community and showcase how AMIRES can support innovation beyond technical development.”
As AMIRES continues to drive impact across Horizon Europe projects, events like Formnext play a key role.
