Ambassador of Mexico Visit to AMIRES | Science & Gender Equality Dialogue
February 16AMIRES had the honor of hosting H.E. Berenice Díaz Ceballos during the official Ambassador of Mexico visit to AMIRES, marking an important moment of international dialogue on science, innovation, and gender equality.
The Ambassador was welcomed by CTO Václav Smítka and Executive Director Lenka Bajarova, who presented AMIRES’ activities in European research and innovation projects, as well as its commitment to supporting scientific excellence with measurable societal impact.
Celebrating Women and Girls in Science
The Ambassador of Mexico visit to AMIRES took place in recognition of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science (February 11). As part of the programme, the Ambassador and her team met with Mariana Pacheco to record an episode for the Embassy’s communication series.
The interview focused on the importance of empowering women in STEM fields, strengthening inclusive research ecosystems, and fostering international cooperation. The episode will soon be published in Spanish on the Embassy’s official YouTube channel.
Advancing Gender Equality and Scientific Cooperation
During the visit, discussions focused on AMIRES’ Gender Equality Plan and the organisation’s broader mission to support scientific and technological innovation with tangible societal impact.
These priorities closely align with Mexico’s national strategy to strengthen science, technology, and gender equality frameworks.
