ETPN RegMed WG Webinar on Intervertebral disc regeneration assisted by collagen nanostructures

Yesterday, the second  from the series of webinars organized by AMIRES and the ETPN Regenerative Medicine Working Group (RegMed WG) took place.  This second event titled “Intervertebral disc regeneration assisted by collagen nanostructures” and led by professor Prof. Hans Jörg Meisel, Director of the Center of Neurosciences / Chair of the Dept. of Neurosurgery, BG-Clinic Bergmannstrost Halle, introduced a new and more interactive format of ETPN RegMed WG events.  Prof. Meisel along with his colleague gave a multidisciplinary talk on the novel approaches to the therapy of disc degeneration, such as a self-regenerative implant based adipose mesenchymal stem cells (AMSC), combined with an injectable scaffold material. Click HERE to read the abstract.  Further information about promising use of collagen nano fleeces for medical implants was provided.  Various possibilities of alternative applications were also discussed. The event concluded with propositions for scientific collaborations.  Click HERE to listen to the webinar recording.

The next webinar focused on „Extracellular Matrix Analogues for the Pre-clinical Handling and Transplantation of Cells“ will be held by Prof. Matteo Santin, Brighton Centre for Regenerative Medicine (BCRM), School of Pharmacy&Biomolecular Sciences, University of Brighton,  on 4 October, 2016, starting at 3 pm.

The ETPN RegMed WG webinars are open to both ETPN members and non-members.  By presenting recent advancement of ETPN members in the Regenerative Medicine field, these webinars aim to improve know how exchange, identification of key European experts and a wider networking between ETPN members (e.g. for collaborative projects). It is also intended to keep webinars open for ETPN non-members, particularly for industrial companies, to facilitate cooperation between researchers and enterprises (mainly SMEs).
